ROMEO LOUISA
Romeo Louisa is a young producer, Jazz pianist and DJ from the French Riviera, specializing in House with Soulful and Garage aesthetics.
He's surrounded by music early on thanks to his father's record collection, consisting mainly of vinyls from the 70's and 80's. The taste he acquires for this sound quickly pushes him to recreate what he hears on piano and on drums, leading him to undertake Jazz lessons during the rest of his school years.
At 17, Romeo leaves France to study music production and sound engineering in London. This course allows him to channel his Funk, Soul and Disco influences into House, which becomes his favorite medium for artistic expression.
It also gives him the chance to meet numerous producers like duo Funk Cartel or THEOS, who encourage him to put his work forward and showcase it on social media.
Thus, he initiates a more professional approach, with his first solo vinyl release on 44km/h Records in 2020, followed by a collaboration with THEOS on his 'We Miss The Crowd EP' out via Shall Not Fade the year after.
Ultimately this leads Romeo to sign his own vinyl album on the famous Bristol label in early 2022, establishing him as a promising House Music figure.
Having moved to Paris during this same period of time, Louisa connects with the local Dance Music scene and its main actors such as Oden & Fatzo, who sign four of his tracks on their label Sake Records, one of which they remix with THEOS.
This accomplishment reaffirms Romeo's French roots, placing him on the map for many other EP's and singles on French labels like Deux Mesures or Aurora Recordings, but also European ones in search of Soulful sounds, such as theBasement Discos, MIURA Records, Surge Recordings and Lacuna Recordings.
